STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Mission of SU SAAC: The mission of the Shaw University’s SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete well being; and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
Guiding Principles of SAAC: All SAAC members will be guided by the following principles: ethics, integrity, fairness and respect for diversity, which shall include attention to gender race, ethnicity and sport.
Governing Rule of SAAC:
· Promote communication between student-athletes (S-A) and the athletic administration.
· Provide feedback and insight into athletics department issues.
· Disseminate information.
· Generate a S-A voice within the athletics programs involving all athletic teams.
· Build a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletics teams.
· Organize community serve efforts.
· Create a vehicle for S-A representation on campus-wide committees.
· Solicit S-A responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation.
· Promote a positive S-A image on campus.
