FALCONS OUTLAST SHAW 1-0 TO STAY ALIVE IN CIAA BASEBALL TOURNEY

Petersburg, VA - The Shaw University Bears ended the 2009 season in the final game with a loss to Saint Augustine's College 0-1.  They played with the hearts and souls of true champions and it was a pleasure to witness their commitment, dedication and compassion for the game.  The game was delayed in the seventh inning for approximately 45 minutes because the sun's glare affected the players. It was dusk dark before play resumed.

Players and coaches are to be commended for their true sportsmanship; we saw their tears and hugs on the field as they realized that several senior members players not be back next year.  It was a true pleasure to watch their camaraderie and respect for one another.  With heavy hearts they posed for this photo following their loss; true soldiers.  On behalf of the Shaw Family and with a motherly heart, I extended congratulations to them and told them that we were very proud of them.
