Virginia
Union University is making its fifth trip to the NCAA
Tournament and its first since 1998. The Lady
Panthers finished 2003-04 with a 23-6 record and, at
14-2, second place in the CIAA's Eastern Division.
VUU won 19 of its first 17 games this season, losing
only to Columbus State and Catawba. VUU is paced
by junior Pria Stellmacher, who averaged 16.3 points
this season, and Danielle Hoggard, who scored 15
points per game and grabbed 9.8 rebounds per game.
Shaaron Atkins provided stellar support from the guard
position, scoring 14.1 points per game.
