Georgia
College & State University is making its fourth
trip to the NCAA II South Atlantic Regional in the
last nine years. GC&SU opened the season with a
school record 11 consecutive victories. The Lady
Bobcats ended the regular season with a 22-5 record
and finished third in the Peach Belt Conference South
Division with an 11-5 league record. GC&SU earned
an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after knocking
off PBC Regular Season Champion Lander University
79-67 to win the PBC Tournament which was hosted by
Augusta State University. It was GC&SU’s third
PBC Tournament Championship, and second in the last
three years. The Lady Bobcats won four games at the
PBC Tournament, knocking off both No.1 seeds (North
Florida & Lander) along the way. The 26 victories
are a school single season record, and it marks the
seventh twenty-win season in Head Coach John
Carrick’s 21 years at the school. |
