SHAW’S Ilesanmi & Enitan NAMED CIAA MEN’S TENNIS ROOKIE & COACH OF THE WEEK

HAMPTON, VA – Shaw University freshman Ibukun Ilesanmi has been selected as the CIAA Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week and not only was he selected as the Rookie of the Week but Head Coach Sunday Enitan has been chosen as the Coach of the Week as well, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Tuesday (March 27).

Ilesanmi is a native of Lagos, Nigeria who is majoring in Chemistry at Shaw University. He is currently undefeated at No. 1 singles with a 5-0 record last week. Since he started play this year Ilesanmi is currently undefeated and he is No. 1 in the CIAA in No.1 singles. Not only does he stand a top of the CIAA in singles but he is also holds a share of the No. 1 spot in doubles as well.

Head Coach Sunday Enitan, who is in seventh years as Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Shaw is named Men’s Coach of the Week for the first time this year. Under Enitan the Bears have claimed two CIAA Championships and looks to gain a third. The Bears are undefeated in the Eastern Division and have only one lost of six conference games this season. The Bears are currently 7-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play thus far this season.
