Practice Begins for Bears
Despite the 40 degree weather, spring practice began for the Shaw University football team for the first time in 25 years at Chavis Park. The Bears, in helmets and shorts, worked on numerous drills for the first time in 2003, including seven on seven and situation drills as well as conditioning.
The Bears main focus this spring will to work on techniques and fundamentals of the west coast system on offense and to expand defensive schemes on defense. The Bears will host their first scrimmage of the season on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Lgfon Field. View pictures from first spring practice.
