Deondri Clark were named CIAA Player/Coach of the Week.
In the win over Bowie State Safford (6-5, 310, So.), a native of
Augusta, GA, helped Shaw to amass 455 yards of total offense,
362 of those on the ground.
Sutherland (6-1, 180, So.), a native of
Hollywood, FL recorded two interceptions and had one pass
breakup along with three tackles (2 solos, 1 assisted) including
one tackle for a loss of two yards against the second ranked
offense in the conference.
Ford, a native of Clewiston (5-11, 201, So.), FL
led the Bears’ ground game where he racked up 123 yards on 7
carries and scored two touchdowns. His longest carry was for a
46-yard touchdown which came in the 2nd quarter and put the
Bears on top 14-7 going into halftime. Ford averaged 16.9 yards
per carry.
Clark helped lead Shaw to a pivotal victory over
Bowie State and a share of first place in the Eastern Division.
