CIAA NAMES SHAW’S POWELL
AS A FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 

November 5, 2007 – Hampton, VA – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has recently released its Players of the Week for the conclusion of play in week eleven. Shaw University’s Ryne Powell (#39 / Kicker / Junior / History / Brown Summit, NC) was voted as the Specialty Player of the Week. Powell’s prestigious honor stems from his performance in Shaw’s season finale against their cross-town rivals in which he sealed the Bears’ 17 – 3 triumph over Saint Augustine’s with a 45 yard field goal. His three points were the only points scored in the second half.
