CIAA Card Pazdry & Powell with Players of the Week Football Honors

October 29, 2007 – Hampton, VA – Early this afternoon, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released its anticipated list for week ten’s players of the week. For the second time of the season, Shaw simultaneously had representatives recognized with two out of the eight honors.
 

Once again, the CIAA saw premier performance in Oliver Pazdry (#74 / Left Guard / Junior / Business Management) to name his as Offensive Lineman of the Week. The Brooklyn, NY native aided the Bears in collecting 419 total yards of offense (264 rushing yards, 155 passing yards) on 80 plays; including one rushing touchdown. Additionally, Shaw’s Ryne Powell (#39 / Kicker / Sophomore / History) was chosen as the CIAA’s Specialty Player of the Week. The Brown Summit, NC native was the beginning and ending of Shaw’s offensive production as he accounted for nine of Shaw’s 16 points totaling 75 yards in field goal yardage. He was 100% on attempts by successfully kicking field goals of 24 yards (first quarter), 36 yards (third quarter), and 25 yards (fourth quarter). His last made field goal undeniably propelled Shaw from being down by one, to being up by two to win the game.
