SHAW’S PAZDRY &
BRAXTON RECEIVE WEEK EIGHT FOOTBALL HONORS
Virginia Beach, VA – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association
recently totaled tally marks for week eight player/coach of the week
nominations. Shaw University’s received two of the eight awarded honors.
The CIAA’s Offensive Lineman of the Week was Oliver Pazdry (#74 / Left Guard / Junior / Business Management). The Brooklyn, NY native aided the Bears in collecting 402 total yards on 70 plays; including three passing touchdowns and one rushing TD. Also, Shaw’s Martellus Braxton (#90 / Outside Linebacker / Freshman / Recreation) was chosen as the CIAA’s Rookie of the Week. The Richmond, VA native helped the Bears hold the Blue Bears to accumulate less than 50 yards in total offense. He had four total tackles (two solo, two assists 1.5 for 15 yards lost) and two sacks for 14 yards lost. He helped to hold Livingstone in a shutout of the second and fourth quarters.
