Shaw (2-2, 3-4, 6-11) jumped out to an early 26-14 lead, but the Tigers scored nine unanswered points over a five minute 50 second span and two free throws by Mike Jones cut their deficit to 26-23 with 3:03 remaining in the first half.  One of Greenup's five dunks in the game at the 2:36 mark of the half, stopped the Bear scoring drought, putting them up 28-23.  A three-pointer by Terrence Martin (17 points) pulled the Tigers to within 30-29 and the Bears led by a slim 32-31 halftime score.

St. Paul's (0-4, 0-7, 0-14) took its first lead of the game on a lay-up by Martin to begin the second half.  The game began to seesaw back and fourth.  Shaw had an opportunity to go up by three points late in the half, but Jamil Aliyy missed an easy dunk and Jones' three-pointer with 3:52 remaining gave the Tigers a 56-54 lead.  Two free throws by Greenup put the Bears ahead 58-56 with 1:26 remaining.  Garrick Duckery's lay-up with 35 seconds remaining tied the game at 58-58 and sent it into overtime.  Shaw scored the first six points of the overtime and never looked back.  The closest the Tigers would come would be 64-61 on a lay-up by Duckery with 1:01 remaining.  Ricky Williams and Darius Acuff had 11 points a-piece and Daryl Jacobs had 10 points.

Shaw will travel to Fayetteville State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
