Free Throws hurt Bears in 73-66 loss to Vikings
Espinosa, Obadina, Kornegay, and Gathier all scored in double digits for the Bears.

Elizabeth City, NC – Shaw made only 19 of their 29 free throws for the game tonight, which could have made the difference in the end. It was a tough game for the Bears (2-19, 0-14 CIAA) as they loss another tight one to the Vikings of Elizabeth City State (10-11, 6-8 CIAA). Shaw got of to a great start in the first half as there was five ties and five lead changes in the first half alone. In the second things were going good until they went too the charity stripe.
Despite a close loss the Bears had four players who scored in double figures and Robert Espinosa recorded another double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Leading the Bears was Damola Obadina with 18 points and who followed be Espinosa with 14, John Kornegay with 12 and Cori Gaither who scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds on the night in the Bears effort. Shaw would minimize their turnover and have only 15 on their night. Shaw dominated the middle as they scored 40 points in the paint, 14 second change points, and 21 points off the bench.
Game high went to Anthony Hilliard who recorded a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds on the night for the Vikings.
