Shaw forward Anthony Greenup was named CIAA Defensive Player of the Year as well as being voted All-CIAA as picked by the league's 12 head coaches. 

Greenup, a senior from Baton Rouge, LA is ranked seventh in the nation in blocked shots and 25th in the nation in rebounds (9.8).  He ranks first in the nation in field goal percentage (71.7), and 30th in scoring (20.8).  He leads the CIAA in blocked shots, is second in rebounding and is fourth in scoring.  He is the only player in the nation to be ranked in the top 30 in field goal percentage, scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.

Greenup was a pre-season All-CIAA selection.
