The Shaw University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
announces its 2004-05 men's basketball schedule. The schedule is
highlighted by four tournament/classics that the Bears will participate in.
The Bears open the season in Boca Raton, FL playing in the Pepsi Double Tree
Tip Off Classic hosted by Lynn University. Dec. 3-4, the Bears play in
the Park Avenue Bank Classic, hosted by Valdosta State. The other two
tournaments the Bears play in are the University of North Florida
Tournament, December 3-4 and the Lenoir-Rhyne Tournament December 29-30.
Shaw's first home game will be November 30 as Shaw plays host
to Presbyterian. Shaw begins CIAA play when it hosts Elizabeth City
State on January 11. The Bears have a total of nine home games this
season.
Shaw is coming off a 12-16 record in 2003-04, 8-8 in the CIAA
and a quarterfinal finish in the CIAA Tournament.
