Greenup Named Male Athlete of the Year
Shaw men's basketball star forward Anthony Greenup received the
Athletic Director's Award as the Male Athlete of the Year at the annual Shaw
banquet held in C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
Greenup was this year's CIAA Defensive Player of the Year and
was named first team All-South Atlantic Region as well as All-American.
The senior from Baton Rouge, LA averaged 20.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.8
blocks per game, while leading the nation in field goal percentage
(.709). He was the only player in the country in the top 30 in those
four categories.
