Greenup Selected to Play in Black College All-Star Classic
 

Shaw basketball star Anthony Greenup has been selected to play in the Black College All-Star Game in Atlanta on Saturday April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta, GA.  A press conference, presented by the World Basketball Association Foundation, will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2004 11am-1pm at the legendary Paschal’s Restaurant in Atlanta.  The game will air on WAJC 90.5 and 99.9-FM in conjunction with WJIJ 94.3-FM in Norlina. 

This historic event is being sponsored by: Leroy McMath, President WBA Foundation, Developer Herman B. Russell, Atlanta Inquirer Editor John B. Smith and Paschal Restaurant Owner James Paschal.

The game will be played at Morehouse College and showcases 48 men and women seniors, from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Greenup was the 2004 CIAA Defensive Player of the Year
and averaged 20.9 points and 10.2 rebounds for Shaw (12-16) this season.  He is the only player in the country in the top 30 in four different categories including points (30) rebounds (16) blocked shots (7) and field goal percentage (1).

Greenup averaged 2.8 blocked shots per game and for the second-straight season led the nation infield goal percentage (70.9).
