Shaw to Play in Carolina Freedom Classic

The Shaw men and women basketball teams will take on St. Augustine's in the Carolina Freedom Classic on January 16 at the RBC Center.  The women will play at 5:00 p.m. and the men will play at 9:00 p.m.  Elizabeth City State and Virginia State's men will play at 7:00 p.m. to complete the triple-header event.  Shaw was originally scheduled to play St Augustine's on January 17 at Dorton Arena at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The Carolina Freedom Classic is a collegiate basketball festival, held during the birthday weekend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This Festival is designed to commemorate and celebrate the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as well as the contributions of all fearless men and women who dedicated their lives to the fight for equality for people in America.

Note: Shaw men and women games against Winston-Salem State on January 15 have been moved from Dorton Arena to Shaw's campus facility, Spaulding Gymnasium.
