Murray Drops 24 In First Start
All former Shaw-star Ronald Murray needed was a
chance to show what he could do. Last night, as the Seattle Supersonics
took on the L.A. Clippers in Japan, he got that chance.
After playing in only 14 games last season with both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sonics, Murray started the first game of this career. He scored 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting as the Sonics beat the Clippers 109-100. Murray was the only Sonic starter to shoot over 50 percent from the field.
"I've been saying all along that all I needed was an opportunity," Murray told the Seattle Times. "I knew I could do it. It's just basketball. I've been playing basketball my entire life.
"People kept telling me all week not to be Ray and I wasn't. I can't be Ray. I can only be Ronald."
