St. Augustine’s defeated Shaw 8-6 and 2-1 in doubleheader baseball action at Emery Field.  The Falcons win the season series 3-1.

In game one, the Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, aided by three Bear errors.  Azor Cloud’s RBI triple scored Derrick Haddock giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead.  Cloud would then score on an error to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Falcons.  With the Falcons leading 2-1, Williams Sanders’ two-run double scored Kevin White and Avery Bryant making the score giving.  Shaw the 3-2 lead.  That lead was short lived as Charles Whitaker’s double scored Cloud tying the score at 3-3.  St. Augustine’s would get four runs in the bottom of the fourth as Dennis Meshaw helped his own cause driving in two runs on a double.

Game two was a pitcher’s duel.  Craig Davis scored the game-winning run on a Shaw error.  Frank Mendible want seven innings scattering four hits while string out nine.  Kevin White (3-2) went six innings giving up six hits and striking out six.  With Shaw leading 1-0 in the fourth, Reggie Barker’s solo homerun tied the game at 1-1.
