Shaw Wins Second-Straight Doubleheader|
Shaw defeated Morris College 19-2 in five
innings and 8-4 in doubleheader baseball action at Lions Park.
Pitcher Travis Wilson (1-0) was in complete control of the game pitching
a no-hitter in four innings of work.
Shaw scored 13 runs over the first two innings.
William Sanders singled in his first at bat, then doubled in his next at
bat driving a total of three runs. He
finished the game 3-for-3 with three runs batted in, four runs scored and two
doubles. Right fielder Gerrard
Everette went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in, first baseman Kelvin White was
3-for-3 with three runs batted in, catcher Jarel Walter was 2-for-3 with three
runs batted in.
Game two was much closer as Morris scored tow runs in the first, taking a 2-0 lead. But Shaw (11-10), who would get no hits in its half of the first took advantage of walks and errors in taking the 3-2 lead. Morris scored a run in the second to tie the game at 3-3. Shaw scored two runs in the third to take the lead for good. Sanders (2-0) went four innings giving up three runs, walking one and striking out three.
