Sanders, Black, White Receive Player of the Week Honors

Shaw outfielder William Sanders was named CIAA Player of the Week, pitcher Joe Black was named Pitcher of the Week, first baseman Kevin White was named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week and head coach Bobby Sanders was named Coach of the Week. 

William Sanders, a junior from Clayton, NC is a pre-season All-American pick.  In six games last week, Sanders batted .611 with 12 RBI, five doubles and four stolen bases.  Sanders is batting .410 with 20 RBI and has a slugging percentage of .639.

Black, a freshman from Cleveland, OH appeared in one game getting the victory over St. Paul's.  He gave up one earned run while striking out 10.  Black is 2-2 on the season with 23 strikeouts.

White, a freshman from Hattiesburg, MS hit .571 this week, with 13 RBI.  He also had 31 putouts with one error.  He is batting .373 with 21 RBI and has stolen 16 of 17 bases.
