Five Named All-CIAA; White Named Rookie of the Year

The Shaw baseball team had four players named All-CIAA.  William Sanders and Brandon Smith were named All-CIAA while Smith and Ryan Donahue was named to the All-Rookie team.  Kevin White was named Rookie of the Year.  

Sanders was named to the team as an outfielder and  batted .448 with 2 HR and 31 RBI while scoring 41 runs.  The junior from Clayton, NC was an All-CIAA performer last season and was CIAA Rookie of the Year two season's ago.

Smith had an outstanding season and was the Bears and was named as the second baseman.  The Chicago native batted .404 and was tied for the team lead in runs scored (43).  He is ranked second in the nation in stolen bases per game (1.24), having stolen 39 of 42 bases.  He has also driven in 29 runs.

White batted .336 with 2 HR and 39 RBI.  The Hattiesburg, MS native also pitched for the bears going 3-4 with an ERA of 6.46.  In 47.1 innings pitched he struck out 32.

Donahue batted .188 but had an on-base percentage of .341.  The Greensboro native drove in 18 runs.
