Bears 5-1 in Last six ballgames
After splitting two games with CIAA-rival
Elizabeth City State on Friday, the Shaw baseball team finished
the week 5-1, 7-1 when you figure in the two wins over St.
Augustine's on Tuesday. The Bears beat Morris College on
Wednesday 28-6 and 11-1, St. Paul's on Thursday 24-0 and 20-2
then split with the Vikings losing the first game 20-5 and
winning the second game 14-3. Shaw is now 14-10 on the
season, 9-3 in the CIAA.
Last year's CIAA Player of the Year Milton Redd was 13-of-22 during the six-game stretch with 3 HR 22 RBI and 12 runs scored, with a slugging percentage of 1.454. CIAA Player of the Week and last year's CIAA Rookie of the Year Williams Sanders was 11-for-23 with 2 HR, 11 RBI and seven runs scored.
