Shaw Wins 3-0f-4 Over Virginia State, St. Paul's

Shaw took won three of its four games this weekend by a combined score of 70-25.  The Bears beat Virginia State 19-13 in game one before falling to the Trojans 11-0 in game two on Saturday.  The Bears beat St. Paul's 31-0 in game one and then beat the Tigers 20-1 in game two on Sunday.

Some of the leading hitters for the Bears in the two series were Milton Redd who wen 11-for-16 with 7 RBI, William Sanders who went 10-for-14 with 1 HR and 13 RBI and Jermaine Rogers who went 8-for-15 with 12 RBI.  Jeffrey Little evened his record to 1-1 on the season in the first win over St. Paul's pitching a complete game seven innings giving up only three hits ,while striking out 10.  James Clay in his first appearance of the season struck out 15, giving up only one run and two hits.

The Bears will play St. Augustine's in a double header on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lyons Park.
