Nancy Lake is in her second year at Shaw University where she serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).
In her role at Shaw, Lake is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Athletic Compliance Program. She serves as the primary NCAA compliance officer with direct responsibility for coordinating and monitoring the athletics department’s NCAA, conference and institutional rules & regulations. As SWA, she participates on the senior management team and is one of the key decision makers instrumentally involved with the athletics department. Lake is charged with strategic ways to support and manage gender equity and Title IX issues. Additionally, Lake is the Sports Administrator for the Women’s Bowling, Softball and Volleyball programs.
Prior to arriving at Shaw, Lake served in compliance roles at two Division I programs, Hampton University (2006-2012) and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (2012-2015). During her tenure at her previous institutions, she was responsible for the development and implementation of effective compliance programs. She served on many committees at the University and conference offices. She worked collaboratively on the improvement of APR and eligibility of the student-athletes. At the 2008 NCAA Regional Rules Seminar Lake served as a Panelist for the APP Data Collection session.
Lake is a current member of the National Association of Collegiate Women in Athletics Administration (NACWAA) and National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC).
A native of the Bronx, NY, Lake earned her Bachelor’s degree from Pace University, and was a 2008 graduate of the NACWAA/HERS Institute for Administrative Advancement.
