SHAW GRADUATES 58 STUDENT-ATHELETES FOR 2017 SPRING COMMENCEMENT

RALEIGH, NC – A total of 58 Shaw University student-athletes earned degrees at the 2017 Spring Commencement exercises that took place Saturday, May 13 at the Raleigh Convention Center in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

 

The Class of 2017 boasted 202 graduates total, where majority them came to Shaw from hometowns in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey and New York. Most claimed degrees in Business Management, Social Work, Mass Communications, Psychology and Recreation Management.

 

Iconic radio host, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Tom Joyner served as the keynote speaker for the 2017 Spring Commencement exercises. He urged the 2017 graduates of Shaw University to follow the lead of their new alma mater to become doers who "change the game." During Shaw's Commencement ceremony, Joyner was presented with an Honorary Degree.
