Malik Alvin, Men's Basketball

Shaw's Malik Alvin was named CIAA Newcomer of the Week for his performance in the Bears' dominant 95-70 win over Virginia State.

Alvin (Sr., G, 6-4, Philadelphia, PA) equaled his season high with 28 points in Shaw's CIAA opener against Virginia State.  In addition, he had four steals and was an impressive 11 for 16 from the floor, including four of five from the three-point line.
