Shaw’s McGaughey Named CIAA Women’s Player of the Week

(Raleigh, NC) – The CIAA today named Shaw’s Tanisha McGaughey (left) its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and based on her performances against Saint Paul’s and Lincoln (PA).   

McGaughey (Sr., Norfolk, VA) scored 20 points in the Lady Bears 56-52 loss to Saint Paul’s.  In Shaw’s 77-60 win over Lincoln, McGaughey scored 16 points and had six assists. 

On the season, McGaughey is averaging 16.3 points, third in the CIAA.  She is second in the conference in assists, averaging 4.8 a game.

The Lady Bears, 11-4 and 6-3 in the CIAA, are a half a game behind Fayetteville State in the Western Division.  They next play at Livingstone Thursday at 5:30.  They return home Saturday, January 30 against Fayetteville State.
