Shaw’s Raheem Smith Named CIAA Player of the Week

(Raleigh, NC) – Raheem Smith was today named the CIAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Smith, a 6-2 junior guard from Greenville, NC, led the Bears in their 68-64 victory over Clayton State.  Smith had 21 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists against the Lakers last Friday.

On the season, Smith is averaging 13.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds. 

The Bears are 5-2 on the season and 4-0 in the CIAA.  They are next in action on December 29 against Rollins College in the Winter Park (FL) Tangerine Tournament.  They return home January 2 to play Lincoln (PA) at 7:30 p.m.
