Robinson and Coughman Receive CIAA Player of Week Honors Robinson Also Finalist for HSRN Division II Player of the Week (Raleigh, NC) – Two Shaw players, Travis Robinson and Edawn Coughman, have been recognized by the CIAA for their performances in Saturday’s 50-0 defeat of Johnson C. Smith. Heritage Sports Radio Network also named Robinson a finalist for its Division II Player of the Week award. Coughman was honored at the Offensive Lineman of the Week, while Robinson was named the Offensive Back of the Week.
On the evening, the Bear offense had 234 yards rushing, and 362 yards passing.
Robinson’s touchdowns were thrown to four different receivers: De’Andre Okonji, Julius Gregory, Tyrone Craig, and Jayson Royal. On the season, Robinson – while sharing time at quarterback – had 944 yards and 11 touchdowns passing. He also has one touchdown rushing. Robinson was also recognized by Heritage Sports Radio Network as one of its four finalists for Division II HBCU Player of the Week. The winner is decided by fan voting at www.hsrn.com. Voting continues through 6:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday. The Bears finished the season 8-2, 5-2 in the CIAA, finishing one game behind Fayetteville State (7-3, 6-1 in the CIAA) in the Western Division.
