Shaw Cross Country Teams Shine Against HBCUs

The men’s cross country team finished sixth in a very strong 12-team field at the HBCU Cross Country Classic.  The women finished eighth among 12 teams.

Willie Stanley finished 15th out of 79 runners with a time of 27:56 over the eight-kilometer course.  Craig Perkins was next for the Bears, finishing  26th with a time of 29:43.

For the Lady Bears, Donchelle Florence and Raychelle Johnson finished 38th and 39th, respectively, coming in only a second apart (23:35 and 23:36) over the five-kilometer course.

Donchelle Florence finished first among the Lady Bears with a time of 23:35.

Willie Stanley among the Bears with a time of 27:56.

Raychelle Johnson finished second for the Lady Bears with a time of 23:36.

Craig Perkins was the second fastest Bear with a time of 29:43.
